General Assembly May 2009

Formal and social programme @ Ostend

The General Assembly (GA) of Youth Agora took place during the first weekend of May. We stayed in Ostend, in the hometown of Christof, who invited us to his parents' house.

The formal part of the GA included the discussion and approval of the financial report of last year and the budget for the upcoming year; and the development of Youth Agora's action plan (present and future projects and HR issues). The minutes of the meetings are available for our effective members on our Infocenter.

The informal part of the weekend started out with a little team building over the typical Zeegeuze on Friday evening. The next evening and the Sunday morning were reserved for the social programme, with a delegation from ESN. We enjoyed the good weather with a barbecue and some sportive fun on the beach the next morning. And it turns out that Youth Agora is not only skilled behind the computer, but also handles quite well a baseball bat: Youth Agora won! Thank you ESN for the lovely trophy-egg!

Following the GA, Youth Agora welcomes two new active participants: Ivo Martins is accepted as a new effective member, who will take on the task of grant advisor and we are pleased to welcome Zohra Adaoui as our new stagiaire.
