Give20: International fundraising for UNICEF

Youth Agora supports ESN in fundraising 1.2 million euros

Fundraising 1.2 million euros for UNICEF is the aim of the ambitious project Erasmus Student Network is planning for 2009. Since ESN was founded in 1989 and therefore the organisation celebrates its 20th anniversary this year the project is being launched with the name of Give20.

To reach the ambitious target of 1.2 million euros ESN International is counting on the help of their almost 300 sections spread all over 33 countries constituting the network. Each section is encouraged to fundraise money for the project throughout their various activities. The official project kick off will take place during the ESN Annual General Meeting in Utrecht, Netherlands in March 2009.

Youth Agora has decided to support the project providing ESN with an online platform where sections have the possibility to post their activities' reports enriched by multimedia content such as pictures and videos. Events and pictures will be also automatically fetched to the website from the Give20 Facebook groups (one for each country). The website will be also a place for brainstorming where sections can share their ideas about their upcoming activities.

To empower the collection of sections' activities Youth Agora is planning a special edition of the ESN Satellite, scheduled for the AGM in Utrecht as well. With the new version of the Satellite sections will be able to post their activities directly on their website since the posts will be automatically aggregated on the central Give20 website.

The first version of the website will be soon online. If you want to read more about the project chack http://www.esn.org/give20.
